    Thank you!

I wanted to thank you all for being such sweethearts! My head cold is better, but it is trying to go into my chest... chronic bronchitis sucks. I am fighting it with every kind of medicine I have at my disposal. We'll see.

We had a big scare with Kylala last night. We really thought she was going to stop breathing. Now, she's eating her seed... which she almost never eats. Definitely a fighter.

    Just an update.

I had to take my rat to the vet last Thursday.  Since we found her she has had an incurable viral disease that is very common to rats.  She has had some bad days since we got her, but she went downhill in the last month.  We are doing what we can at this point and are going back to the vet next Thursday.  So we’ll see.

Also last Thursday I went major grocery shopping.  With gas being what it is, it cut way into our food budget so the last couple months we have been using our small stockpile from the pantry.  But I was able to go replenish everything this month.  Our vet appointment was suppose to be on Tuesday and I was planning to shop on Thursday, which obviously got changed.  The vet called to change the appointment at the last minute so I wasn’t prepared to go shopping.  So I had the brilliant idea of cramming everything into one day. Very bad idea.

I left the house at 3pm to pick up our harvest share drop it back off at home grab Kylala (our rat) and head to the vet for a 4pm appointment.  I left the vet at about 5:30pm.  I had 7 stores lined up to take advantage of sales, coupons, bulk store and the like.  I only managed 6.  I didn’t get home until about midnight. Granted I am a total night person, but I pushed myself way to hard and caught a cold.

I knew it was going to happen too.  Not like I listen to myself or all the signs.  Blah.  Luckily it doesn’t seem too bad and I should be over it soon.

I also wanted to share with whoever would be interested in it, Twitter.  It is kinda of like a blog, but different.  You can send little updates either online or by text message to share your day with people.  I have a little widget in the side column that you can check out that tells you what I am doing.  Don’t know if I’ll keep it, but I like being able to send mini-updates, especially when I don’t really have enough to say for a blog.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Witches Weekly - "Your Most Important Role"

Saturday, September 6, 2008, 11:45 AM GMT [Ramblings]

    Your Most Important Role
    September 4th 2008

I’ve been getting some emails asking where Witches Weekly has gone. Honestly there wasn’t much participation, so it had become less of a priority. But I’ve decided to start it up again, and hopefully get things rolling again. I may bring another person on board to help with weekly questions if there are any volunteers.

    This weeks question:
Where in your list of roles do you place your role of a pagan? By roles I mean, mother, brother, daughter, son, worker, democrat, american, lover, caretaker, etc. We all have a lot of different roles we play and usually they all fall into an order of importance. Is being a “pagan” at the top, or is it somewhere in the middle?”

    My answer is here:

I’d say I am first and foremost a daughter/sister/lover/friend/etc., and I really don’t segregate those roles. I believe my second-most important role would be pagan. The first roles never really change, they are almost a part of the human condition, which is why I place those first. Pagan being my second role influences any other role which comes after it whether it be American, homemaker, crafter, etc. since for me it is more of a lifestyle than just a religion.
